Reading in preparazione dell’esame

The  South African swimmer, Natalie Dutoit, has always been a very determined person. When she was a child, she had asthma. Her parents took her to swimming lessons from the age of six to help her asthma. Natalie didn’t like swimming at first. She was frightened of water and stayed at the side of the pool. But she went to her lessons every week and she tried hard. By the age of ten was breaking all the records for age group. By the age of fourteen, she was one of South Africa’s best young swimmers.

But when she was eighteen, Natalie had a serious motorcycle accident. Doctors had to amputate her left leg. Natalie had a lot of courage after the accident. Most of people take a year to walk with an artificial leg but Natalie practised in the hospital and was walking in five hours. She started swimming again just in six weeks after the accident.
